Modular design allows a common electronics subassembly to be mated to either a 15-meter baseplate or a 30-meter baseplate.
This ability to change the baseplate subassembly protects the investment of customers that have not yet adopted the 30-meter geometry. Model MP-12, a 15-meter retroreflectometer, can be purchased to meet present specifications. Upon adoption of the 30-meter standard, a customer only has to purchase the 30-meter baseplate subassembly and install it. Changing baseplate subassemblies is as simple as releasing four latches, toggling a slide switch to the new geometry, exchanging baseplates, and re-securing the latches. Customers can purchase the 3 piece MP-30 plus 12 retroreflectometer system for maximum versatility. Durable design incorporates heavy gauge aluminum, u-channel construction and heavy gauge fasteners. Significantly lower cost compared to the offerings of our competitors. An auxiliary power jack located in the side control panel of the Mirolux Plus (see photo below) allows the unit to be powered using any 12 volt DC power source including an automobile's cigarette lighter or power port, or any 110 volt AC to 12 volt DC power source. New drop-in battery design is less complicated. Cleaning of the photocell chamber can now be accomplished by the customer, eliminated the most common reason the Mirolux 12, our original offering, has been returned for service. With this feature, customers may never have to return their machine for maintenance. Diagnostic test ports along with a multi-position dial (visible in the photo below) allow a customer to troubleshoot malfunctions and consult with the factory for corrective action. This may eliminate returning machines to the factory for service by allowing customers to perform simple maintenance themselves in certain instances.
